Use dtfInfo to analyze your Q&A databases prior to translating or designing them newly in Sesame. The information dtfInfo provides (including flagging illegal and problematic field names) will make the transition go faster and smoother with fewer post-transition issues. >> More Details.
(A)   Start in Q&A....            Print just these instructions
 
1. Open the Field Names Spec for the database you want to analyze.
     File / Design a file / Program a file / Set field names		 Notes
Do not attempt to "fix" or "tidy up" your Spec files before or after uploading them

dtfInfo works best on databases with field labels for all fields, and where all fields are defined by the ":" character

2. Press F2 for the Print Options screen.   show screen settings
  Print To .................................. uDISKt  
  Print Field Labels ............. uYESt  
  Print Expanded Fields .... uYESt  
3. Press F10. Save Spec to appropriate filename such as NAMES.TXT.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the following Specs. Save each Spec to filename shown:

5. Upload your Spec output files using the links in step [B] below.
6. Click Compile Dictionary button (step (C) below).
